LETTER FROM COLIN WHITBY

Hi Hope you are well. We are both still enjoying our time here. We are learning Spanish and Wendy is learning a lot quicker that me – in fact she teaches me in between lessons – but then we can’t all be perfect can we? We have finished work on the house. The last job was new aluminium double glazed windows and new shutters all in dark blue. We are now making progress on the garden. The side is now a proper garden and not just a mud patch! I am still cycling and we have had some very good times with one cycling friend and his wife. In fact the other day we went round to see them because we had to change a day they had asked us to go for a meal. We only intended staying ten minutes but finally left them after about six hours!! Can you imagine – these people speak no English!! Wendy did most of the talking on our side. I think she is fantastic!! These people are so lovely – they are taking us to Barcelona on Monday to show us their favourite bars and the best shops ( hopefully the cheapest!!). The weather is now very warm during the day although still cold enough for the wood fire in the evenings. It does make doing the garden and getting the whole of the outside ready for summer a very pleasant task though! We have one other piece of news for you. We now own an apartment which is for renting out! In case you, or any of your friends and family may be interested in a holiday out here I am attaching the details. If you want to know what the riding is like round here – speak to George Minion, Dave Gretton or Bob Heath as they are coming out at the end of March. Mind you George came out last September, so he must have enjoyed it enough to come again. Regards Colin
