'IT'S ALL  RIDEABLE'

CHAIN GANG

There is a regular chain gang on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Meet outside the shops at the junction of Attenborugh Lane and Nottingham Road, Chilwell. Start time 6:45pm.

Some riders also meet outside Leisure Lakes cycle shop in Breaston and join the ride there.
CHAIN GANG CONCERNS
Concerns have been raised about the standard of riding by some riders on the chain gang. Riders who ride the Tuesday and Thursday chain gang will be aware that the ride is not exclusive to Beeston Road Club riders. Riders from other clubs and non affiliated riders also join the ride. There have been numerous reports of dangerous riding which mainly relate to riders not keeping in line if the next rider is a little slow at coming through i.e. riders are pulling out from the line without warning and going through to the front before waiting until the 'last man' passes them. In addition riders are not easing the pace to allow dropped riders to catch up if the chain gets broken at junctions and roundabouts or in traffic. Another often voiced concern is riders jumping red traffic lights.

Recently the chain gang has been attracting fairly large numbers and it is essential that all participants ride safely with due regard for other riders and road users.
Every experienced rider knows that a simple touch of wheels can easily cause a chain reaction and bring down a lot of riders. We ride on public roads and a multiple bike crash in traffic could have very serious consequences indeed.

Please remember that the chain gang is a training ride not a road race. Be alert and courteous to other riders and keep the chain together.
